Public consultation starts on Traffic Regulation measures in parts of the village

Sea Road, Manor Road, Willowhayne Crescent, South Strand, Lashmar Road, Sea Lane and Tamarisk Way affected

(East Preston: Various Roads Amendment) Order 2020

NOTICE is hereby given that West Sussex County Council proposes to make a permanent Traffic regulation Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to amend the waiting restrictions various roads in East Preston as follows:

Sea Road: to prohibit waiting at any time on the eastern side of the road from its junction with Manor Road, southwards to its northern junction with Willowhayne Crescent, and to prohibit waiting between 8am and 6pm on the western side of the road from its junction with Normandy Drive southwards to a point opposite its southern junction with Willowhayne Crescent.

Willowhayne Crescent: to prohibit waiting at any time on the southern/western side of the road, on the bend opposite its junction with Willowhayne Avenue.

Manor Road: to prohibit waiting at any time on both sides of the road at its junction with Sea Road, and on the northern side of the road at the entrance to Tamarisk.

Normandy Drive: to prohibit waiting between 8am and 6pm on the southern side of the road it its junction with Sea Road.

Lashmar Road/Orchard Road: to prohibit waiting at any time at the junction.

The opportunity is also being taken to correct the existing Traffic Regulation Order for East Preston by removing from it lengths of parking restrictions on Tamarisk Way and South Strand. These roads are subject to private parking enforcement and do not need to be included in the Council’s parking Order.
