A message from the Chief Fire Officer of West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service, Sabrina Cohen-Hatton:

I am delighted to inform you that today West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service has formally adopted its Community Risk Management Plan 2022 – 2026.

The publication of our new four year plan comes following an extensive public consultation last year, following which we have been busy analysing the responses we received to inform our decisions which will allow us to continue to best-serve the communities in our county.

As part of this, we have agreed five strategic priorities:

  1. Preventing fires and emergencies from happening.
  2. Protecting people, firefighters and property by making buildings as safe from fire as they can be.
  3. Responding to fires and emergencies quickly and effectively.
  4. Have a safe and valued workforce.
  5. Making best use of resources.

You can view our CRMP document, which sets out the service’s strategic priorities and our key objectives to help deliver on this work, here.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for sharing our consultation proposals with your members, and for their feedback as part of this.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Warmest regards,

Sabrina Cohen-Hatton
